Current Projects:
A short story about Livee the Norwegian Forest cat, called "A Mostly Retired Assassin."
An anthology of my better short stories written over the past 4 years, titled You're Always Coming Home. I’m currently trying to whittle it down from close to 30 stories I have written to 15. Once I get those set in stone, I’ll be contacting GetCovers for some cover art and uploading the manuscript into the formatting software. Who knows, maybe November, 2026?
Editing a short story titled "The Magical Things about Books and Doors," set in the shared cozy fantasy world of Cozy Vales that enjoy I writing in, alongside a group of authors I have (mostly) only met online.
Editing a novella, The Weaver's Apprentice, the Shade, and the Sisters of the Pool. This is a completely overhauled work that has previously been published in three installments in my newsletters years ago. Here, a young girl named Tinley lashes out in anger and discovers that she has a hidden power. One that she doesn’t want, one that she refuses to ever use again, and one that will plague her until she comes to grips with what she has done.
Looking into the possibility of revising Love Like a Snowfall with the eye to seeing it in print.
Shelved projects (for the time being!)
A memoir of sorts, Becoming Sanderson.
A fantasy, The Initiation Well, that starts with a young man training to be in the King’s Guard, but most take a perilous journey to prove he is worthy.
A mystery novel, Murder by the Bay.
Notes from the Seasoned Math Teacher. Ideas I have collected from over 35 years of teaching mathematics. Notes, ideas, essays, and pitfalls for anyone looking to avoid buzzwords and trendy fads and instead wants lessons born from experience and reflection.
