Current Projects:

  • You’re Always Coming Home—an anthology of seventeen short stories written over the past 4 years. The cover is being finalized and soon I will be uploading the manuscript into the formatting software. Who knows, maybe November, 2026?

  • The next Cozy Vales anthology, Wish Upon a Falling Leaf is due to be released on September 22nd. My entry in the current collection is called “The Magical Things About Books and Doors” and features two of my favorite characters from pervious stories.

  • Editing a novella, The Weaver's Apprentice, the Shade, and the Sisters of the Pool. This is a completely overhauled work that has previously been published in three installments in my newsletters years ago. Here, a young girl named Tinley lashes out in anger and discovers that she has a hidden power. One that she doesn’t want, one that she refuses to ever use again, and one that will plague her until she comes to grips with what she has done.

  • I am currently working with Mermaid Cove Publications to revise Love Like a Snowfall and create a print copy. The new version will feature professionally rendered illustrations done in water color. This should be for sale by late August, 2027. Here’s my bio on their website.

  • My newest short story, “The Fantastic Teaparty of Sabrina Chapman.”

  • A new entry into my memoir (see below). The latest essay, “The Summer of the Eternal Baptism,” chronicles my experiences working as a counselor in 1988 at the Sara Heinz House Camp, outside of Pittsburgh, PA.

Shelved projects (for the time being!)

  • A memoir of sorts, Becoming Sanderson.

  • A fantasy, The Initiation Well, that starts with a young man training to be in the King’s Guard, but most take a perilous journey to prove he is worthy.

  • A mystery novel, Murder by the Bay.

  • Notes from the Seasoned Math Teacher. Ideas I have collected from over 35 years of teaching mathematics. Notes, ideas, essays, and pitfalls for anyone looking to avoid buzzwords and trendy fads and instead wants lessons born from experience and reflection.
